If you thought toddler tantrums were a lot, welcome to the sequel: puberty with a highly sensitive kid. The moods, the eye rolls, the “I hate everything in my closet” mornings—it’s all… bigger. And while you can’t stop the hormones from doing their thing, you can help your child navigate these changes and teach them coping strategies that will become lifelong tools.

This week’s issue is packed with strategies to make this stage feel less like a storm you’re weathering alone and more like a journey you’re both prepared for.

🔮 WHAT YOU NEED MOST RIGHT NOW

Puberty With a Sensitive Kid: What’s Coming and How to Handle It

Puberty can feel like a wild ride for any child but for a highly sensitive one, it’s more like an uncontrollable high-speed roller coaster. From sudden sensory changes to shifting friendships and big emotional waves, these years can feel overwhelming for everyone involved.

This week’s post breaks down why puberty hits differently for highly sensitive children, the unique challenges boys and girls may face, and the practical, age-appropriate ways you can help them feel prepared, supported, and confident through every stage.

🧸 SENSITIVE-APPROVED!

The Perfect Pocket-Sized Stress Fix for Teens

Puberty can crank up the stress, emotions, and restless energy for highly sensitive teens. That’s why we love these Acupressure Rings as a discreet, pocket-sized outlet for all that extra tension. We’ve used them for years and always keep some on hand.

They’re subtle enough to use in class or during homework, and the gentle pressure can calm nerves, boost focus, and even promote circulation. Plus, they come in a pack of 30, so if a few disappear into the black hole of laundry or backpack bottoms, no biggie. Best for ages 10+, they’re a low-cost, high-impact way to help your teen regulate on the go.

👩‍🍳 TRIED IT, LOVED IT: PICKY-EATER RECIPE

Easy Bubble Up Pizza Casserole with Biscuits

We haven’t made this one yet, but it’s officially on the dinner lineup this week. Soft biscuits form the base, then you layer on rich tomato sauce, gooey cheese, and pepperoni for a fast, picky-eater-approved meal that’s basically pizza in cozy casserole form.

It’s quick to prep, bakes in about 30 minutes, and uses minimal ingredients. The kids can grab it as-is, and the adults can add a side salad to get in some veggies. Quick, easy, and weeknight chaos–friendly.

🎧 WHAT WE’RE LISTENING TO

Why You Need to Listen to Project Hail Mary

If you’ve been here a while, you know my love for audiobooks runs deep but Project Hail Mary might just set a new bar. I’d heard it was one of those “full experience” listens, where the audio adds so much it’s worth it even if you’ve already read the book. Plus with the Ryan Gosling movie adaption on the horizon, I decided it would be my next listen.

Four hours in, I can tell you: it’s gripping, surprisingly easy to follow, and the narrator is fantastic. If you’re a science-y person, you’ll love the really cool science aspects but even if you’re not a science person (hi, that’s me), you’ll still be hooked.
