🔮 WHAT YOU NEED MOST RIGHT NOW

For the Working Mom Who’s Holding It All Together

Some days it feels like you’re spinning a dozen plates—and the one marked “my kid’s big emotions” is the one that keeps crashing. When your child’s sensitivities collide with your packed schedule, it can feel like everything’s about to unravel.

This week’s blog post gives real-life tools to help you navigate the overwhelm with more clarity and self-compassion. It’s about creating steadier rhythms, loosening the guilt, and finding small moments that help you feel more resourced—even when time and patience are running low.

👩‍🍳 SENSITIVE-APPROVED: PICKY-EATER RECIPE

The Dinner Shortcut I’m Trying Next

When work is hectic and home life is full-throttle, dinner always feels like the last straw. I’m constantly looking for something quick, kid-friendly, and low-effort—because complicated recipes and a sink full of dishes? Hard pass.

This week I stumbled across a sheet pan nacho recipe that immediately felt like a win. Nachos might not scream “family dinner” at first, but hear me out: they’re fast, fun, and totally customizable. You can load one side with all your grown-up toppings and keep the other plain for picky eaters (or sensitive kids who don’t want anything “touching”). Plus—bonus—it all happens on one pan.

👉 Check out the recipe here. I’ve got it lined up for our busiest night this week.

🔧 HSC MOM HACK OF THE WEEK

The Hack That Saves Me From Almost Missing School Pickup (Again)

When you’re juggling work deadlines, back-to-back meetings, and the emotional needs of a sensitive child, time becomes a blur. I used to constantly worry I’d lose track of time and forget school pickup—because let’s be honest, I’ve come this close more times than I care to admit.

My solution? I connected my calendar to our Amazon Alexa and set it it to verbally remind me before events. Now it gently reminds me when I need to stop working, prep for transitions, or get out the door. It’s not fancy—but it works. And for this working mama? That little chime has saved my sanity more than once.

Bonus: It helps my son too. Setting timers for him—whether it’s a 5-minute warning before leaving the house or a heads-up that playtime is almost over—makes transitions so much smoother. The cue comes from the device, not me, which takes some of the tension out of those tricky moments. Little tool, big difference.

💕 You’re not alone if… you’ve silently begged the universe to let your child just be okay today—because you can't handle having to cancel another meeting if your child has to come home early from school

💫 CURRENTLY LOVING

The App That Makes “Me Time” Possible Again

Okay, here’s the truth: I love books, but finding a quiet moment to actually read one feels about as likely as pigs flying. That’s where Audible saves me. I can listen while I’m doing dishes, folding towels, or sitting in the carpool line. It keeps my brain engaged, my stress level down, and somehow makes the mundane parts of my day feel a little more like me-time.

And bonus: even if you cancel your subscription, you keep every book you got. That alone makes it worth it. Oh—and did I mention they’re offering 3 months free right now? This is one of the few apps I truly use every single day.
