Raising Highly Sensitive Kids. No Filter.

Hey there, {{first_name | Mama}}!
You might’ve noticed this is hitting your inbox on a Friday instead of our usual Thursday. Why? Let’s just say tech decided to have its own meltdown yesterday. And honestly? Like our kids—tech can be unpredictable.
This Sunday is Father’s Day, and I want to give a big shoutout to all the dads, stepdads, grandpas, and co-parents out there doing the work of raising a highly sensitive child. We see you, we appreciate you, and your presence matters more than you know.
Also… I’m so excited to finally share something that’s been in the works for months: our brand-new Calm Mama chatbot is now live on our site! This little tool is here to help you find the answers and resources you need faster than ever—and yes, we dare you to try and break it.
Lastly, this week’s blog post is a great one: how to identify your child’s sensory sensitivities. For so long, I only saw the behaviors—the tears, the meltdowns, the shutdowns. I didn’t realize my son was experiencing true sensory overwhelm. Once I understood his triggers, everything started to shift. And I want that clarity for you too.

Because moms deserve the answers exactly when they need them, we’ve been quietly dreaming this up behind the scenes for a while. I always wished there was one place I could go to ask a question—about meltdowns, school, sensory struggles, all of it—and actually get a helpful answer when I needed it. Now there is.
We’re so excited to introduce the Calm Mama chatbot, built just for you. It’s fast, it’s friendly, and it’s loaded with tools, tips, and real support for raising a highly sensitive child.
And because we know you’re a curious bunch… we dare you to try and break our bot. Ask it anything. Get weird. See what it can do. (And if it says something ridiculous? Definitely screenshot it and send it to us.)

🔮 WHAT YOU NEED MOST RIGHT NOW
How To Identify The Hidden Triggers Behind Your Child’s Big Reactions
We’re usually quick to notice the meltdown—but not always what caused it. With highly sensitive kids, the screaming or tears are often the result of a sensory trigger, not the problem itself.
This week’s blog post helps you identify the specific sounds, textures, smells, or other inputs that overwhelm your child before things spiral. Because once you know what’s setting them off, you can make small, powerful adjustments that actually prevent the blowups.

The One Game That Gets Everyone Off the Couch
It’s summer—and the “I’m bored” chorus is probably already in full swing. That’s why we’re loving Popdarts, a surprisingly addicting suction-cup game that’s like darts with a suction-cup twist.
You throw soft silicone darts at a smooth surface (like a table or door) and try to land them as close to the target as possible. They stick with a satisfying pop, and yes—it's more challenging than it looks. But that’s part of the fun. It’s super easy to learn, but tricky enough to keep older kids (and adults) engaged.
What makes it a win:
– It’s easy to adapt for younger kids with simpler rules
– You can level up the difficulty with creative challenges for older kids
– It’s travel-friendly and quiet, making it perfect for car rides, hotel stays, or even kitchen floor tournaments
– It’s fun for siblings (and shockingly competitive for grown-ups too)
Whether you’ve got a kindergartener or a teen, Popdarts brings everyone to the table—literally.

🔧 HSC MOM HACK OF THE WEEK

Why I’ll Never Fold Pajamas Again (And You Don’t Have To Either)
I gave up folding pajamas—and I’ve never looked back.
Now, before the neat freaks come for me, hear me out. Pajamas are literally the one category of clothing where wrinkles don’t matter. No one sees them, no one cares, and let’s be real: kids are either running wild before bed or collapsing into a pile of exhaustion. Matching sets? Not a priority in this house.
So I created a system that actually works for us. I have one bin in my closet for my PJs, and another bin in my son’s closets for his. When it’s laundry time, there’s no folding—just sort the clean PJs and toss them in their bins. Boom. Done. It cuts laundry time down significantly, and best of all? My kid can actually help. He don’t have to match or fold anything—they just chuck his PJs into the right bin.
It might not work for everyone (if you live for coordinating jammies, I salute you), but for me, this small shift turned one of my most dreaded chores into something I can do quickly—and even delegate. And that’s the kind of win I’m here for.

🎧 WHAT WE’RE LISTENING TO

The Podcast You Didn’t Know You Needed
Look, I may be forming a theme this week... turns out I really hate chores. But nothing makes folding laundry, scrubbing dishes, or wiping down mystery stickiness quite as tolerable as a good podcast—and Good Hang has been my new go-to.
Hosted by Amy Poehler (forever my hero from Parks and Rec), this show is exactly what it sounds like: a laid-back, hilarious, and totally human conversation between friends. It’s the kind of podcast that doesn’t try too hard, which is exactly why it works. You feel like you’re just listening in on a really great hangout—and somehow your brain forgets you’re doing the third load of laundry this week.
If you need a light, laugh-filled escape from the constant noise of parenting and productivity, this is it.
