Help your sensitive child with friendships + tools for big emotions

Raising Highly Sensitive Kids. No Filter.

Hey there, Mama!

You may have noticed we skipped last week’s newsletter—but don’t worry, we didn’t disappear! With so many emails going out about our live webinar, we wanted to give your inbox a little breathing room.

And wow… that webinar! We were blown away by how many incredible moms showed up, shared their hearts, and leaned into this journey of raising highly sensitive kids together. It honestly meant so much to connect with so many of you—and we’re still smiling about it.

This week, we’ve got something new for you. 🎉

We’re introducing a brand-new section called “Resources Worth Sharing”—a curated collection of virtual events, programs, and expert tools we think you’ll love. Some will be free, some will be paid, and some will even come with special discounts for our community. Keep an eye out for this section whenever we have something great to share!

In this issue:

CONNECTION THEIR WAY

How to Help Your Child Build Meaningful Friendships

That familiar knot in your stomach when the birthday party invitation arrives? Yeah, I feel it too. For our highly sensitive kids, social situations aren't just about making friends—they're emotional obstacle courses that can leave them (and us) completely drained.

But here's the thing—meaningful friendships ARE possible, just not on everyone else's timeline or terms. It's about finding your child's unique social sweet spot, where they can connect without compromising their sensitive nature. In our latest post, we're sharing strategies that can help your child build deep, treasured friendships. Because sometimes the best social skills aren't about being the life of the party—they're about knowing exactly what kind of party feels right for you.

RESOURCES WORTH SHARING

I know how hard it can be to find the right support for you and your highly sensitive child. That’s why we’re curating virtual events, programs, and expert-led resources from partners we trust—so you don’t have to go digging.

Some resources will be free, some will be paid, and some will include a special discount or affiliate code just for our community.

Upcoming Events & Expert Help

Keep an eye out each week—whenever we find something great, we’ll share it here!

☕ Sip & Support: While "A Cuppa Momsense" is our gift to you, some product links may be affiliates. If you treat yourself, we might get a little something too – at no extra cost to you. It's how we keep the coffee flowing! 💖

DISNEY DANCE BREAK

The 10-Minute Movement Magic You and Your Child Need

Finding time to move your body when you're knee-deep in the beautiful chaos of raising a highly sensitive child? Yeah, that feels like trying to fold a fitted sheet—seemingly impossible. But I stumbled across this Disney Kids Dance Workout and it's been a total game-changer in our house. It’s less than 10 minutes and has some of the tunes you both love from The Lion King, Moana, and Toy Story.

The movements are simple enough that no one feels overwhelmed, but effective enough that you’ll actually break a sweat—win-win! And for our sensitive kiddos, this kind of rhythmic movement is pure regulatory gold without feeling like "work." Honestly, anytime I can sneak in something that burns energy, creates giggles, AND helps my little one feel regulated is basically the parenting trifecta. Consider this your permission slip to ditch the "real workout" guilt and just dance in your living room instead!

TRANSLATING BIG FEELINGS

How These Books Can Help Your Child Navigate Emotions

Someone recently recommended these books to me and oh, how I wish I could go back in time and hand them to my younger self. My son is older now and able to have deep conversations about his feelings, but back when his big emotions seemed to swallow him whole, we were missing the language to make sense of it all.

The A Little SPOT Emotional Regulation Box Set gives kids exactly that—a vocabulary for overwhelming feelings, which is so essential for sensitive little souls who feel everything deeply but don’t yet have the words to explain why. If your child is still in those magical (and sometimes maddening) early years, grab these books—they’re the emotional guide I wish we’d had before we learned it all the hard way, one epic meltdown at a time.
