Brew #10: Post-Holiday Reset & A Gift Just For Mom

Raising Highly Sensitive Kids. No Filter.

Real Talk

Hey Mama!

Sweet snuggles? Check. Sensory overload? Also check. Whether this holiday season brought tears or giggles (or likely both), I really hope you had a chance to take a moment for yourself…and if you didn’t let me give you that moment right now.

This week's newsletter is short on purpose. We don't want to take any time away from you and your family. So we're making this value-packed and a quick read with two things you can use right away - today... for your child and for you.

Two Game-Changers In This Issue:
🌟 The post-holiday connection ritual your HSC is craving (hint: it's not what you think) 🎧 Your daily escape plan (because you needs a reset button too)

Post-Holiday Reset: The Magic of Just Being Present With Your HSC

I know from experience that the holidays can leave you (and your highly sensitive child) feeling wiped out. But instead of sending them off to play with all their new toys by themselves, try this instead: Join them. Let them take the lead on a no-strings-attached activity where you’re simply there to connect and play. No agenda. No corrections. Just pure presence. You might be surprised how much calmer and more connected you both feel after just 20 minutes of this ‘time-in.

WHAT IT IS:

Instead of the typical advice about creating calm by giving your child space to decompress, flip the script. What your child needs today is YOU—fully present and joining them in their world. But here’s the twist: you let them take the lead on what this time looks like.

HOW TO DO IT

Create a “Yes Space” where everything is fair game for exploration, creativity, or play—with no rules, structure, or corrections from you. Let them decide: Do they want you to build a fort? Be their sous-chef in a pretend kitchen? Be the customer for their toy store? Or maybe they just want you to sit nearby while they show you all their new treasures from Christmas.

WHY IT WORKS FOR HIGHLY SENSITIVE KIDS

Control = Safety: After all the overstimulation and chaos of Christmas, giving them full control over their interaction with you can help them feel grounded.

Connection Recharges Them: Even if they’ve had a lot of togetherness lately, this focused, judgment-free time helps them feel truly seen and heard.
